First Big Trip - Or Maybe Not

I have to go get my computer fixed today - my Apple computer.  Being an Apple, I can’t take it anywhere and I can’t fix it myself.  That being the case, I have to go to the new Apple store in Louisiana which is about an hour and a half away.

Right when I was about to say this is Pooh’s first trip out of town I remembered Hurricane Gustav.  She had to go out of town then, but this one will be different, I hope.  She is more alert and more playful, plus this is more of a pleasure trip.  The last time she went out of town was to get to safety.

Well, I will let you know how it goes.  She has on the cutest little dress and is all ready to go.  Let’s pack up the car and get on the road!

More Time Apart

Tonight will be my first night away from Pooh since Hurricane Gustav - I have to go out of town for business.  As a matter of fact, I’m supposed to be on the road in twenty minutes, but that isn’t going to happen.  I spent most of the morning having some quality time with her and it was more than worth getting a late start.

I know I’m biased, but she is just the sweetest thing to me!  I know you parents out there have already went through what I’m talking about, but everyday is new and wonderful to me.

I think my writing will start to pick up now that she is doing more and more things for me to talk about.

Bathtime for Baby

I have to give props to Tyna over at Dreamcatcher for a good post on Bathing newborns.  Her post offers some good tips, tips we’ve used with Pooh.  Click on the link to check out her post, but I thought the picture with the post was cute.  Check it out.

I Just Love This Little Girl!

I think I’m making some progress with Pooh. Just yesterday she fell asleep with me after being fussy - she was actually in a 12-round super-babyweight fight with sleep. She lost the fight with sleep, Daddy lost the fight with sleep and then Mommy startled me waking us both up. But I digress.
What may seem like a small thing is huge to me. Her relationship with Mommy is built-in, but she is learning to have a level of comfort with me. I’m not going to say I was worried about it, but I did ask a male co-worker if he went through something similar with his daughter. I guess the most important thing is the progress we are making. I’m so smitten with her I can hardly stand it!

Not The Same Pacifier

Wow!  I had no idea a 1 month old baby could tell the difference from one pacifier to the next.  Having just got used to her pacifier, we tried to give her a different one today.  Reason being, the one she is used too doesn’t really have a handle and I wanted to put a clip on it so it wouldn’t fall on the floor.  As a side note, I wanted her to try the all-clear Advent pacifiers so her natural beauty could shine through.  :D

She wasn’t having anything to do with the new pacifier.  Maybe she broke the old on in already.  However, she has been using the old one for a whole 3 or 4 days so how much breaking in could she do right?

We have so much technology right now and one of the great mysteries in life is still unsolved.  If someone could find a way to let us know exactly what a baby is thinking that person would be a billionaire.  How much would we pay to know what children too young to talk clearly are thinking?

In this case, I would want to know what Pooh was thinking when she spit the new pacifier [...] Continue Reading…
