The Exersaucer Is A Hit!

The Exersaucer has been a big hit with Pooh!  I was worried about her ability to turn and stand up, but those aren’t issues.  Since the Exersaucer can adjust for height, the lowest setting is low enough for her to stand up…when she wants to.  :D   Also, she turns, when she wants to.

All the toys you see rattle, make music and/or turn.  The seat is on rollers allowing the baby to turn and play with different toys.  Her little legs will get some exercise as will her motor skills with her hands.

Keeping in line with her personality, she likes the Exersaucer, but only in small doses.  Once she can crawl and walk, things will get interesting!  Mommy and Daddy will do our best to keep up.

First Christmas With The Baby

Today I put my first Christmas present together.  We got Pooh the Exersaucer – I think I spelled that right.

It seemed like it would be a hassle at first; it looked like the thing had a million pieces.  But when I got down to it everything went together without a hitch.

The one she got isn’t exactly like the one pictured above, but it is close.  The seat, or harness, the baby sits in swivels allowing her to play with all the toys.  The whole thing has a height adjustment too – hopefully she is tall enough to touch the floor.

If things go as they normally do, she will only like it for a couple of minutes at a time until she warms up to it.  Once she warms to it, she will be OK.

My sister just told me that her third Christmas – she will be two then – will be the one where she really understands what is going on.  I can’t wait, but until then she still has too many presents to open and she can’t even play with the paper!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Deeper and Deeper

Every day I seem to be falling more and more for this little girl!  I never denied the fact that she would have her daddy wrapped, but I had no idea how it would feel.  It feels great and I’m loving every minute of it.

She is beginning to find her voice and the baby talking is starting.  I love it!  She is such a good baby right now and this experience is better than I expected.  Here is one of her latest pictures.

Can Robots Do The Job?

When the baby starts to crawl we want the floors and carpets to be clean.  Its not like we didn’t care about them before we had her, but now a clean floor has added importance.  Wouldn’t it be nice if we could have our carpets cleaned every week to make sure the little one is moving about on a semi-sanitary floor?  That isn’t going to happen though because carpet cleaners aren’t cheap and aren’t really all that good for the life of the carpet.

We could make sure we run the vacuum everyday, but with a baby in the house we have less time to do things like that.  Making better use of our time is hard enough without fitting more vacuum time in.

I’m thinking about getting a Roomba, but I don’t know which one is right for us and I don’t know if they are really worth it.  I thought this would be a simple purchase, “I’ll take a Roomba, please.”  Not so fast!  They have Roombas, Scoobas and Dirt Dogs or something like that and several models of each.  Each model has different features and I don’t have a clear understanding of how the feature descriptions relate to [...] Continue Reading…

Gaining Control

Now that we’ve talked about spit up, what about control?  No, I’m not talking about having control of the baby or anything like that.  I’m wondering when she is going to get control of herself.

You know how infants sort of wiggle their hands around all the time?  I’m wondering when this will stop and she will gain control of her hands.  Even though she is only two months old, I think she is getting closer and closer.  Sometimes when I lean in for my kisses she seams to hit me in the head.  She does it so much, it seems like something she is doing on purpose.  And I’m not doing anything to give her a reason to hit me so don’t even think about it!

Anyway, how old was your child or children when they started to control those cute little hands?  Maybe I should enjoy this time while I have it since she will soon be into everything, but I’m curious.
