Here We Go Again Elmo

In this truly life-like creation, for the first time ever, Elmo seems to actually be speaking as his mouth opens and closes just like the real muppet, Elmo, from Sesame Street. His mannerisms are right on target as his head moves back and forth as he speaks. He waves his arms, sits and stands, even crosses his legs all the while telling stories and jokes, singing songs and playing games. Children can activate the magic with a tickle or a squeeze of Elmo’s foot, tummy, back or nose.

That is the description for Elmo Live, the newest iteration of the super-popular Sesame Street character.  I haven’t paid much attention before, but Pooh has me in the game now and I have to find a way to get my hands on one of these.

Elmo Live was released yesterday and you better believe it is hard to get one.  But if someone really must have one I’m sure there is someone one Ebay waiting to take advantage like a predator.  I will not, I repeat will not, to that route and overpay for Elmo Live.

I will just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope I luck up into one.

Getting Into The Swing Of Things

I finally found the time to take Pooh’s swing out of the closet and put it together.  Honestly, I kind of forgot about it - we are guilty of being first-time parents who love holding our baby.  Anyway, the assembly was much easier than I anticipated; two thumbs up for the manufacturer.

The swing is the Butterfly Sparkle Papasan by Fisher Price.  The swing includes the following:

Swings side-to-side and front to back
Has a net that goes around it - I’m not really sure why
Butterflies that spin
A light show that is pretty cool in a dark room
Music
Two positions - reclining and laying down
Little toys she can play with on the tray
It is pink of course

My sister said it is more of an experience than a swing.  Back in the day a swing was just a simple…swing.  We are experiencing a time where things are bigger and better, Pooh’s swing is an example.
So far, Pooh’s review of the swing is 50/50.  I think she doesn’t mind it when she is in the mood and when she isn’t in the mood she has no problem letting us know.  Unlike the bouncy, she does like it when she is in the mood.  Did I [...] Continue Reading…

First Big Trip - Or Maybe Not

I have to go get my computer fixed today - my Apple computer.  Being an Apple, I can’t take it anywhere and I can’t fix it myself.  That being the case, I have to go to the new Apple store in Louisiana which is about an hour and a half away.

Right when I was about to say this is Pooh’s first trip out of town I remembered Hurricane Gustav.  She had to go out of town then, but this one will be different, I hope.  She is more alert and more playful, plus this is more of a pleasure trip.  The last time she went out of town was to get to safety.

Well, I will let you know how it goes.  She has on the cutest little dress and is all ready to go.  Let’s pack up the car and get on the road!

More Time Apart

Tonight will be my first night away from Pooh since Hurricane Gustav - I have to go out of town for business.  As a matter of fact, I’m supposed to be on the road in twenty minutes, but that isn’t going to happen.  I spent most of the morning having some quality time with her and it was more than worth getting a late start.

I know I’m biased, but she is just the sweetest thing to me!  I know you parents out there have already went through what I’m talking about, but everyday is new and wonderful to me.

I think my writing will start to pick up now that she is doing more and more things for me to talk about.

Bathtime for Baby

I have to give props to Tyna over at Dreamcatcher for a good post on Bathing newborns.  Her post offers some good tips, tips we’ve used with Pooh.  Click on the link to check out her post, but I thought the picture with the post was cute.  Check it out.
